Cristina Cornaro obtained the Laurea degree in physics (cum laude) at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1991, and the Ph.D. at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 1996. She spent almost one year doing research on thermo-fluid-dynamics processes at the University of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA and two years as a Post-Doc at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. In 2001 she became research assistant at the now Department of Enterprise Engineering of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". Her research activity concerns the study of thermo-fluid-dynamics processes, comfort and indoor air quality, environmental measurements and solar energy conversion.
She manages the environmental applied physics laboratory and, since 2003, the weather and solar station of the University of Tor Vergata. From 2007 she also manages the ESTER facility which consists of  the solar and weather unit and of a PV modules monitoring unit. Recently her interests are focused on weather and solar radiation measurements at ground for performance evaluation of photovoltaic systems and monitoring and test of solar conversion devices of various technologies. She holds the chair of Environmental Applied Physics at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. For the second level Master in Photovoltaic Engineering  of the same University she holds the chair of Certification, Measurements and Monitoring Systems.

Prof. Cornaro is author/co-author of almost 40 scientific publications in international journals, conferences and book chapters.
